10/31/2007 - Coyote Volleyball jumps to No. 7 in NAIA Poll

Paced by convincing home victories over Corban and Concordia, The College of Idaho volleyball team jumped three spots to No. 7 in the latest NAIA Top-25 Coaches Poll, released this afternoon in Kansas City, Mo.
   The ranking for the Lady Yotes (18-7) is the highest regular-season ranking in program history and is one spot below the highest ranking ever - set this season in the preseason poll.  The Press Release.

10/24/2007 - Volleyball #14 in National Rankings

The Raider volleyball team improved their national standing by beating Eastern Oregon University and the #8 (College of Idaho) ranked team in the nation this past weekend. With the pair of wins over the weekend, voters moved SOU from #20 to #14 nationally.  The Press Release.

Picture below left is Maggie and Sam.  It was taken during the '07 season in Seattle, WA while competing at the Emerald City Classic tournament at University of Washington.  Sam graduated from Stayton High and Maggie from McNary High School.

"Amber Kraaz (Yamhill, OR), a 5-10 front-row player from Yamhill-Carlton High School, brings a wealth of experience at the high school and club levels. She was a First-Team All-Cowapa League selection during her junior and senior seasons and led the team in kills for both years. She helped guide the Tigers to the league championship as a sophomore. Kraaz was also a member of the successful Salem Volleyball Club."

Kristen Eiler, Emily Stupfel, Teri Braun, Ashley Lange, and Andrea Swanick - Corban College

10/20/2007 - Corban College Volleyball Release
Freshman Kristen Eiler recorded a match-high 13 kills on 21 swings without an error, as Corban swept the Geoducks of The Evergreen State College.

SALEM, Ore. – Freshman Kristen Eiler (Salem, Ore.) recorded a match-high 13 kills with zero attack errors, as Corban's women's volleyball team swept the visiting Geoducks of The Evergreen State College, 3-0 (30-16, 30-17, 30-12), on Saturday inside the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center.  ... Freshman Teri Braun (Dallas, Ore.) and a pair of Warriors -- junior Chelsea Reeher (Powell Butte, Ore.) and senior Ashley Lange (Salem, Ore.) -- added five and four kills respectively.
   Every available player on Corban's roster saw playing time, as freshman Emily Stupfel (Salem, Ore.) ran the Warriors' offense for the final two games and handed out a match-high 21 assists...  Junior Margo Wyatt (Dufur, Ore.), Davenport, and sophomore Andrea Swanick (Aumsville, Ore.) anchored Corban's back row with a match-high 15, 9, and 9 digs respectively. Defensively, the Warriors recorded 8.0 blocks led by Reeher's six (4 solo, 2 assist) and Braun's two (1 solo, 1 assist) total blocks. ... Complete article.

Kristen and Emily, both graduated from Sprague High and played together for few seasons.  Teri played for us for two seasons in '05 and '06 and graduated from Dallas High.  Ashley Lange played in '00 to '04 and Andrea played in '02, both graduated from Salem Academy.  Here are some pictures from Club, unfortunately we don't have any from Ashley and Andrea's season.

Michelle Segun (Robertson) - Portland State University

10/15/2007 - Big Sky Conference Volleyball Release
  
"Michelle Segun tallied 21 total blocks (five solo and 16 assisted) in the match, which is a new Big Sky single-match record."  Read the article.

PSU' Michelle Segun set a Big Sky single-match record on Friday with 21 total blocks.

Leah Gradwohl - Chemeketa CC, Warner Pacific College

9/4/2007 - Volleyball Kicks Off Conference Play Defeating Cascade
The Knights were led by the 19 kills of Marcy Oakland and 16 kills and 17 digs of Leah Gradwohl.

Leah graduated from N. Salem High in 2006.  She competed for Salem VBC for three seasons.  After graduation, competed for Chemeketa for one season and is now competing for Warner Pacific College.  Click here to go to their website.

Kelsey Bashaw - Gonzaga University

Earned four varsity letters in volleyball playing for coach Sherrie Bashaw at Blanchet Catholic High...as a senior named Blanchet High female athlete of the year...two-time captain...named Tri-River Conference player of the year in 2006...three-time All-Tri River Conference first-team...three-time All-2A State selection...earned four varsity letters in basketball, two varsity letters in softball and one letter in tennis.

Kelsey played for our Club for four seasons prior to moving on to Gonzaga University.

Katie Coburn - Oregon Institute of Technology

10/20/2007 - Oregon Tech Bounces Back, Hammers Eastern

Third season at Tech...Prep career at McNary...Won their league championship as Katie was named the league's Most Valuable Player in 2004-05...Katie was asked to be OIT's setter last season while All-Region setter Megan Albertson sat out several games due to injury...Will take on setter duties in 2007 as she proved herself last season...Led Tech in aces with 37 in 2006...A Medical Imaging major.
